Based on equipment in service from 1955 on and complete with all the features found on Walthers passenger cars, you can model the complete consist with these cars.
Starting in August with the ACF 60-Seat Coach, a new car arrives each month, followed by the PROTO 2000 F7 Diesels in June 2007.

Unveiled in June 1929, the "Empire Builder" quickly established itself as the flagship passenger train of the Great Northern. Named for GN founder James J. Hill, it ran from Chicago (via the Burlington to St. Paul) to Seattle, with a separate section to Portland. Post-war plans for the new streamlined version were unveiled in early 1945 with the arrival of EMD E7A-A diesels attired in brilliant Omaha Orange and Pullman Green (later known as the Empire Builder scheme); deliveries of matching cars continued through 1947. Not content with this upgrade, GN completely refitted the train once more in 1951 and assigned A-B-A sets of F units as standard power. The Empire Builder reached its pinnacle of luxury in 1955 with the arrival of brand-new Vista-Dome and full or Great Dome cars offering incredible views of western scenery. This longer and heavier train was pulled by A-B-B-A sets of F units. Based on the 1955 train, Walthers offers a complete series of authentic models to re-create this legendary streamliner:
***As with the Santa Fe Super Chief series, Walthers will be releasing a new Empire Builder series passenger each month.
*** New HO scale factory painted and assembled 85' Passemger Cars by Walthers. Painted Omaha orange, pullman green and black (roof) with yellow lettering (Empire Builder paint scheme) for the Great Northern Railways. Sides are smooth. No road number but decals of authentic road numbers enclosed.

* Electrical pickups are already installed, which allows easy installation of the snap-in Interior Lighting Kit (sold separately in my Storefront) if desired. For longer trains or a larger fleet of cars, numberboard decals are also provided.

- LOCOMOTIVE SPECIAL CONDITIONS: This unit has an odometer and an hour meter on it for return both the odometer and the hour meter must read zero.
- For MTH items If the unit is run then normal factory warranty would apply and MTH would directly handle any warranty issues.
- On New power units Factory Warrantees apply and are handled directly by the manufacturer under the terms of their warranty agreement.
SHIPPING: SHIPPING is done Monday thru Friday normally within 1 day of receiving payment. Sometime a delay does occur due to weather or the commercial carriers we use to deliver the packages. All customers receive an email notifying they of the scheduled delivery date at the time of shipping along with the tracking number of the package.
FREE SHIPPING: FREE SHIPPING ONLY applies to packages shipped domestically within the continental United States. Shipping outside the 48 states pay quoted shipping costs.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: INTERNATIONAL customers pay quoted shipping cost based on the service class desired and the Destination.
